We commit to following the loving example of Jesus

We are a parish that has three distinct centres. At the southern end of the parish is Paekakariki where we have
St. James on Ocean Road. In the geographical centre of the parish there is Raumati South, Raumati Beach
and Paraparaumu. The parish centre is situated at Raumati Beach. In the north there is Waikanae
and we have our church called Te Ao Marama on Ngapaki Street at Waikanae Beach.

We are a fairly large parish with about 200 people attending worship on a Sunday. Most of our people are retired,
but we have a good number of younger families.

We are an inclusive parish and we make a point of being welcoming and accepting of everyone.
We are also a very diverse parish with parish groups that interpret the Gospel in quite different ways.
Having a large team of worship leaders who all present the Gospel from their own unique perspective also helps
 our diversity.

We incorporate the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa/New Zealand, Methodist Church of New Zealand
and the Christian Churches of New Zealand in our parish.

We consider we are strongly ecumenical, fully supporting the Uniting Congregations of Aotearoa/New Zealand
as well as the local denominational courts. We also play our part in local ecumenical activities.

Sunday Services

Our Sunday services happen at 9.00am at Waikanae, 10.15am at Paekakariki and 10.30am at Raumati.

Also, every Sunday at Raumati we have our alternative worship service called United@9.  This is located in the Hall at Raumati and on the first Sunday of every month, before the service, we will have breakfast together at 8.30am for which there is no charge (donations welcome).  The service will then start at 9am. This is a more relaxed form of worship which incorporates modern and traditional music, a variety of speakers and involvement from the children.
